Academic Eligibility
The Livonia Public Schools believes that participation in interscholastic athletics is a privilege and not an inherent right. Consequently, our student athletes will be held to a higher academic standard and one which is also above the minimal guidelines established by the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
In order to be compliant academically and eligible athletically, a student athlete must be currently passing all six of their classes. Should this not be the case, the student athlete would have to meet the following criteria to remain athletically eligible:
- Have no more than one E and no less than a 2.0 grade point average in their other five remaining classes during their current card marking. All student athletes must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 during the current card marking with no more than one E. If the student athlete does not meet the criteria, they must sit out a minimum of one week defined as Monday through Sunday.
The athletic director will do grade checks at the midpoint of every season and continue until the conclusion of the season.
