Mr. Brian Jensen
Dear Emerson Families and Community Members,
It is with tremendous joy and enthusiasm that I introduce myself to you as the principal of Emerson Middle School. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the community in which I reside.
My wife and I live in the Franklin triad with our two boys, who will be future Patriots, and I am proud to step into a role where I can impact the lives of students and families in my neighborhood. Living in the triad for so many years, playing at the parks with my boys, going for walks, and attending Franklin events has revealed a deep sense of pride, commitment to family, and a feeling of belonging within the community. My goal is to create those same feelings at Emerson.
Through my experiences as a classroom teacher and recently as the assistant principal at Frost Middle School, I have shaped my educational philosophy into three key areas: prioritizing physical and mental well-being, ensuring high expectations for learning, and creating avenues for students to pursue their passions.
The core of my philosophy begins with forming strong interpersonal relationships with students based on mutual respect and positive interactions. Adolescent life brings many challenges as our children transition to adulthood, and as a parent, you entrust us to make the best decisions for your child while they are in our care. My goal is to support their development by ensuring all students are given opportunities to develop life skills through our community with character work.
I have a passion for creating an environment where all children can thrive. Our students are at a pivotal age where they are trying to discover who they are. Of course, that journey will have its challenges, but I believe with the support of our staff and our parent partnership, we can create an atmosphere where they can discover the best version of themselves as people and as learners.
My journey through the field of education has been enriched through the relationships I have built and the knowledge I have gained from others. I am eager to meet our students and to create a positive learning experience for all.
